As a licensed MFT (Marriage, Family & Child Therapist) since 1997, I maintain a private practice in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco. For the past 23 years, I have worked with a variety of clients, including children, teens, individual adults, couples, and families. My specialties include children, teens, young adults, families with young children, parenting skills, and school age students and adults with special needs.

My main focus is on self-esteem, communication skills, educational and relational coping strategies, relationships, and life transitions. I believe it is the relationship between therapist and client is the most important part of therapy. With authentic engagement, bonding, and trust, true change and growth can happen. I work with the whole person, couple, or family system, and work as a team member as needed. I use Family Systems Theory as my guide, along with my ample empathy for children, teens, and parents, to provide effective counseling and therapy.

I have worked as a case consultant for Bay Area agencies and organizations, and as an MFT Supervisor (on or off site) for MFT Associates that are on the licensing track. My supervison has focused on MFT Associates who work with children and familes, schools sites, childhood Autism, and addiction services.

I belong to California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and the San Francisco chapter of Marriage and Family Therapists (SFCAMFT). Currently I am coordinator of the SFCAMFT Pre-Licensed Member’s Program, and facilitate the monthly (Zoom) Pre-Licensed Member’s Support Group.

Currently I am volunteering for the Northern California CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Chapter, facilitating a monthly (Zoom) Parent and Guardian Support Group for children and teens with attention issues.

Part of my great experience in working with children and families is my past work in the San Francisco Unified School District (retired in 2018) as a Special Educator for 32 years (including RSP and SDC services). I was also program coordinator for the SFUSD Schools Program Special Olympics for 10 years. I have a strong background working with students of all ages with educational, emotional, intellectual, and physical challenges.

With my experience and skill as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist, Special Educator, Program Coordinator, Zoom Group Facilitator, Consultant, and LMFT Supervisor, I am uniquely qualified to provide a variety of services to agencies, educational settings, individuals, couples, parents, and families in the Bay Area.
